About

I’m Tim. I build software, and right now the most interesting thing I’m doing is shipping AI products and rewiring how engineering teams work with AI.

Currently

Engineering Manager at DoorLoop. My team builds AI-powered financial reporting — helping property managers and investors understand their portfolios without spreadsheet archaeology. Alongside the product work, I’ve been leading the org’s move to AI-first team collaboration: the tooling, the habits, the rituals, the prompts. Figuring this out in 2026 is a lot like figuring out how to ship web apps in 2010 — the right answers aren’t written down yet.

Before DoorLoop

Porter (2021–2023). I was a software engineer on Porter — the multi-vendor ordering platform that gets QR codes and ordering links in front of customers at food halls, breweries, festivals, and food trucks. I worked across product and engineering as the platform grew to 300,000+ active users.

Freelance in Madrid (2018–2021). Custom websites for Spanish real estate companies. Bilingual sites, bilingual clients. I got very good at translating vague brand directions into working software on tight timelines. I also got good at Spanish.

Before software

Before I wrote code for a living I was an Audio Engineer and Producer at Universal Music / Decca Records in London (2014–2017). I studied at Liverpool John Moores University from 2011–2014. I pivoted to software in 2018.

Two habits from that era that still show up in how I build: sweating the last 5%, and treating every release like someone’s going to listen to it on repeat.
